Terms of Service

        The short version: Use BeerRate responsibly, don't abuse the service, and drink legally. We provide the app as-is and aren't liable for your beer choices.
    

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using BeerRate ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Age Requirement

You must be of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction to use this App. In the United States, this is 21 years of age. By using BeerRate, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

BeerRate is a tool for tracking and rating beverages — it does not sell, provide, or facilitate the purchase of alcohol.

3. Description of Service

BeerRate is a mobile application that allows you to:

Photograph and catalog beers you consume
Rate and review beers for personal reference
Share ratings with friends who also use the App
Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App only for lawful purposes
Not upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
Not attempt to interfere with the App's functionality or security
Not use the App to harass other users
Drink responsibly and never drink and drive

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App (photos, ratings, notes). By sharing content with friends through the App, you grant them permission to view that content.

We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it for any purpose other than providing the App's functionality.

6. Intellectual Property

The BeerRate name, logo, and App design are the property of BeerRate. You may not use our branding without permission.

Beer names, brewery names, and logos that appear in the App are trademarks of their respective owners.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses Apple iCloud for data synchronization. Your use of iCloud is subject to Apple's terms and conditions. We are not responsible for Apple's services or any issues arising from iCloud.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Beer information provided through barcode scanning or AI analysis may not be accurate. Always verify important information independently.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BEERRATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.

We are not responsible for:

Your consumption of alcohol or any consequences thereof
Data loss due to device failure or iCloud issues
Inaccurate beer information from third-party databases
Interactions between users of the App

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to social features for users who violate these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
